Can’t get to Arecibo? Check out Sazon Restaurant & Lounge for your Puerto Rican home-away-from-home! Experience fine dining and entertainment at Sazon in the heart of Tribeca! Sazon is set on Reade Street in one of the most amazing spaces in NYC.
With a lounge set below the large dining space, there is something for everyone. Sit and enjoy Manhattan’s best Spanish, Cuban and Puerto Rican restaurant before moving downstairs to salsa and lounge in the colorful setting. During the week enjoy live guitar and a more relaxed vibe. This is the kind of place for everyone. Come once and you won’t want to leave!
Sazon is the sister restaurant to Sofrito on West 57th Street. You might know Sofrito as the Mets-frequented, mojito-slinging Puerto Rican restaurant formerly known as Jimmy’s Downtown. Sofrito’s consulting chef, the peripatetic Ricardo Cardona, assumes identical duties at Sazón, where his Puerto Rican–inspired menu covers traditional (if elevated) Latin Caribbean territory, from conch salad and rum-glazed shrimp to mofongo and ropa vieja.
Fans of Puerto Rican fritters can munch alcapurrías and tostones rellenos to their heart’s (dis)content. There are plantain sandwiches and big salads at lunch, plus two so-called VIP lounges, in case Carlos Beltran brings some friends.
