The Miguel Cotto vs Daniel Geale fight for the WBC/Ring Magazine World Middleweight championship has been officially tabbed as the kickoff event of the Puerto Rican Parade Festivities. The Barclay’s Center will be the site this Saturday, June 6th promising a world championship fight along with bonus entertainment preceding the main event.
This fight is one of international proportions as challenger Daniel Geale, a former two-time middleweight king hails from Australia. To perform the National Anthem of the land “down under” that evening will be Latina-Aussie Natalia Segura, a singer-actress who has been singing for Latin bands in Australia since the age of 16. She has also impressed on the screen in John Leguizamo’s “Fugly” and “Eugenia and John” this coming December.
This young woman of Salvadorean heritage will also be releasing her EP “Love is the Movement” this summer. Natalia is head of a musical wave she has described as “Conscience Pop” , a modern and varied immersion of the spiritual aspect of the beatnik culture of the 60’s.
It gets even better. Roc Nation will be presenting a musical performance by their Grammy-nominated artist, Big Sean along with Angie Martinez “The Voice of New York” as event host with DJ Lobo from La Mega 97.9FM in New York City, the number one Spanish radio station in the United States. It promises to be a packed night of entertainment all-around.
