The late banda singer Jenni Rivera was buried earlier today in a private funeral held in Long Beach, California. The star was laid to rest in All Souls Cemetery after a public celebration of her life and work was held on December 19th.
The burial was held one month after Rivera’s passing. The singer was killed in a plane crash near Iturbide, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on December 9. Although her remains were delivered to the Rivera family four days later, the star’s family had to delay the burial due to legal reasons.
Days after the confirmation of Rivera’s passing, fans worldwide publicly mourned her death. The Diva de la Banda’s music played on public radio stations and television shows cycled videos of the singer’s past concerts and performances in recognition of her musical achievements.
The Rivera family was finally able to mourn the star in an intimate setting among relatives during the star’s burial. According to La Opinion, Rivera’s celebrity brother Lupillo had a beer in hand and sang at the funeral. The ceremony reflected the late star’s vivid personality.
Rest in peace Jenni.
