Healthfirst, a not-for-profit managed care organization offering health insurance to individuals and families living in the New York metropolitan area, announced the opening of its newest Community Office in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan on Wednesday, November 20. Community residents are now able to visit the office and receive personalized service at 1467 St. Nicholas Avenue, New York, NY 10033.
This is one of nine Healthfirst community offices based in the New York City area with other locations in the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens. An additional location is based in Hempstead, Long Island. The Washington Heights Community Office will provide personalized one-on-one service to community residents seeking health insurance and assist current Healthfirst members with their administrative needs.
“The opening of this Community Office reinforces our commitment to the Washington Heights area and our established presence here as a neighborhood partner,” said Pat Wang, Healthfirst President and CEO. “Working closely with our provider network and community leaders, we are now able to present residents with the convenience of a full-service Healthfirst location to serve all of their health insurance needs.”
“With our strong ties in the Washington Heights community, it was imperative to bring a Community Office to this area to serve our current members and those seeking health insurance coverage,” said George Hulse, Healthfirst Vice President of External Affairs. “We look forward to continuing a long-standing relationship with our community partners here and having neighborhood residents take advantage of the convenience of our local Healthfirst office.”
The Washington Heights Community Office is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 8:30am-5:30pm. For more information, please visit www.healthfirst.org.
