Cuban singer Gloria Estefan may be joining Ricky Martin on a future episode of “Glee”. Although nothing has been confirmed, speculations are the star is in negotiation with the show’s producers to make a guest appearance.
Rumor has it Estefan will be filling the role of Santana’s mother. Santana, played by Puerto Rican actress Naya Rivera, recently came out to her grandmother who disapproved of her grandaughter’s homosexuality. The character claims, however, that her parents were supportive of her decision.
According to a source, the “Glee” cast members are big fans of Estefan and love her and husband Emilio Estefan’s music. Until fans know for sure whether the rumors are true, Estefan will be keeping busy hosting “Gloria Estefan’s Latin Beat” in the UK, a seven part series that explores the history of Latin music.
It seems the “Glee” producers are trying to spice up the show this winter with some Latin flavor.
