ESPN Deportes Radio announced today the launch of 640 AM ESPN Deportes. Under the operation of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, the station will be Atlanta’s only station devoted to broadcasting continuous Spanish language sports coverage.
“We are proud to extend ESPN Deportes Radio to the Spanish-speaking sports fans in Atlanta,” said Oscar Ramos, senior director and general manager of ESPN Deportes Radio. “Our agreement with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment will allow us to provide comprehensive sports programming relevant to the Hispanic audience that was not available in this market. The addition of 640 AM to our portfolio of stations also solidifies our commitment to continue expanding our national presence.”

640 ESPN Deportes will offer a variety of Spanish language sports talk programming which will cater to the Hispanic sports enthusiast including Raza Deportiva, ESPN Al Despertar and Jorge Ramos y Su Banda. With more than 300 live sports events scheduled yearly, programming for ESPN Deportes Radio will also feature other top sporting events, including CONMEBOL South American World Cup Qualifiers, CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, Mexican First Division soccer, U.S. National Team Qualifiers, MLB and MLS.
