Latin Trends (LT): What is your biggest goal for the company?
Asdrubal Hernandez (AH): My biggest goal is to reach the Hispanic market and reach the readers in the predominant Spanish speaking areas in the U.S. The vision is to bridge the gap between Latin American authors and the Latino community and earning a reputation.
LT: Are you only focused on adult books or will you have a focus on children’s as well?
AH: Right now, the only focus is on trade adult and even though that we would like to enter the children’s market, we won’t be doing this for a couple of years. We have to try building loyal readers and then are able to branch out into the children’s market once we are established. Currently, we have some collections available including fiction, non-fiction and poetry. All of them are trade books for adults.
LT: As a Latino, what does entrepreneurship mean to you?
AH: It is a lot of work and a way to freedom by owning your own business, which is very exciting to see your idea to grow and your dream to become reality. The downside of being an entrepreneur is you need to be connected all the time. There is not enough time to do everything that you want to do and working beyond the normal hours, may have to happen, especially at the beginning.
LT: Do you have any future plans for the company?
AH: Of course. There are several plans for the future that include the creation of an only EBook collection, the expansion of our network of independent book store and organizing more events with authors in many different places.
