The top ten songs downloaded by the masses told us three things. Shakira is hot, new or old material notwithstanding. Pitbull is King and collaborations pay off. Lets take a look at the ten most popular Latino songs on I-Tunes. In no particular order we have Marc Anthony with “Vivir Mi Vida” at number ten.
Shakira’s new album is holding a monopoly with four songs in the top ten as “Empire” (#3), “Can’t remember to Forget You” with Rihanna (#4), “Medicine”, (#5), and a surprise as “Hips dont Lie” stands at #6.
It appears that you need to collaborate to make it high on I-Tunes. Shakira had Rihanna and Wyclef Jean. At nine, Drake joins Romeo with “Odio”, Don Omar returns with Lucenzo at eight with “Danza Kuduro.”
Enrique Iglesias has a lot of help from Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona on “Bailando”at seven. Shakira owned spots 3-6 so that leaves the top two.
At number two, “Timber” with Pitbull featuring Ke$ha is topped only by the number one song by Mr. 305 himself, Pitbull, with G.R.L and “Wild Wild Love.” So there you go. The top ten Latino I-Tunes songs as of April 14, 2014.
