The sexy and funny Sofia Vergara takes the next step to becoming a Hollywood movie star with new comedy “Hot Pursuit” featuring award-winner Reese Witherspoon.
Together, the two actresses create an unlikely friendship in the movie, which premiers May 8 in theaters. The Oscar-winning Witherspoon plays an incompetent police agent (Officer Cooper), whose assignment is to watch over and protect Vergara, the widow (Daniella) of a drug dealer (of course, always a drug dealer).
The two ladies run around Texas handcuffed to each other trying to getaway from dangerous drug lords that want to end Daniella’s life. Running around in wild chase scenes and being handcuffed to Witherspoon for two months was painful says Vergara. The curvacious Colombian said to EFE in Miami that they spent “a lot of time together, and it hurt.”
But Vergara, who will celebrate her 43rd birthday in July, is not complaining because she enjoyed her time with her new best friend. “It all went well with Reese because we were on the same page, we knew why we were there, and that we wanted to make the film, not to waste time,” she said.
The four-time Golden Globe nominated Vergara is mostly known for her popular television series “Modern Family”. She plays the wife of a drug dealer, wait… no. I mean the wife of a white old rich guy. She said that after she finishes promoting her new movie she is returning to her “Modern Family.”
