Last week, Wizards of Waverly Place and Ramona & Beezus star Selena Gomez, 18, was hospitalized due to malnourishment and exhaustion. However, before details to her hospitalization could be revealed media outlets were reporting that the young star may have been facing similar issues with fellow Disney starlet Demi Lovato who battled her eating disorder earlier this year and could be expecting. The rumor mill at its finest.
On the Kidd Kraddick Morning radio show, Gomez cleared up her recent hospital stay and told the show’s host especially listening fans that, “I do eat! The problem is that I don’t eat right. I love everything that’s possibly not good for me.” The star went on to admit her candy addiction to M&Ms, Kit Kats, and Snickers meanwhile adding that while she does eat veggies—like broccoli—she cannot eat it without some cheese.
Although she’s technically an adult now, Gomez reports that her mother, Mandy, has become, “supermom right now. She’s definitely shoving vitamins down my throat and following me around.” Ensuring the rising actress remains healthy and avoids another bout with malnourishment.
During her radio appearance last Wednesday, Gomez was also questioned about her love life with Canadian teen heartthrob, Justin Bieber. Especially with the surrounding rumor that Gomez was to deny her relationship in order to appear as being single and available. “For me it’s not about being public with anything. I don’t want to live my life being afraid of what people are going to say about me,” said Gomez after denying such rumors about trying to maintain a single and available image. She also mentions her recent public openness regarding her relationship as wanting to live a truly honest life without having to keep that portion of her life hidden.
Despite a recent hospital stay due to a chocolate addiction, Gomez appears to be bouncing back and starting the summer off just nicely. Budding career, relationship, and far more better nutriential diet to remain healthy Gomez will continue to be the rising star. You can catch Gomez in her newest flick Monte Carlo also starring Leighton Meester which hits theaters July 1st.
